Cross-Belt Sorter Capabilities

The cross-belt provides positive discharge of a wide variety of products from low coefficient items like plastic totes to high coefficient items that may be difficult to handle with other sorting technologies. Easily sorting bags and boxes which range from 3”sq to 44” long, and 6oz. to 110 Lbs. Cart size and pitch are configured to average product sizes, as larger items can be handled across multiple belts. High throughput capacity can be achieved with multiple pitch configurations and operating speeds of up to 3m/s, while maintaining a less than 70db operational environment.

How Our Cross Belt Sorter Operates

Items are inducted onto each belt, where typical orientation for a single belt load is the longest dimension placed perpendicular to the sorter travel (Cross-Loaded). Systems with larger packages can be configured to handle items over two consecutive belts, where typical orientation for loading is the longest dimension placed inline (Conventionally loaded) to the sorter travel.  When the item reaches its destination, the belt is energized to release the package.  The belts are bidirectional and therefore can be diverted to either side. The Cross Belt’s divert algorithms are independent of the sortation speed, thus allowing greater flexibility for our customer’s immediate and future requirements.
